Call of Juarez Review

Call of Juarez

(CoJ)Call of Juarez is a story about a lost treasure, a boy’s past and a priest that are lead down a long path.

Here are some CoJ videos Supported at 1up.com:http://www.1up.com/do/gameOverview?cId=3157619&type=game&sec=VIDEOS

The Single Player allows you too play between two characters:
The two Characters you’ll be playing as in the Story Mode are Billy Candle and Reverend Ray. Interestingly enough the characters have little differences during game play except the actually mission style between both the characters. Billy Candle’s character is stealth based; the game offers a variety of different paths as the stealth character. Including going Gung-Ho and shooting up the neighborhood or taking a sneaky approach. But also adding to Billy’s character he is given a whip which is used for many of the actual missions in the game mostly for swinging from ledges or perhaps protecting yourself against animals when with out a gun and so on. This rope (whip) mechanic/physic is quite flawed and seems tiresome and seldom works well. These characters will be switched between Episodes in the game there are 15 episodes in the Story Mode of the game.

Spoiler Alert!(As Rev. Ray approaches his brother’s farm he hears shooting and screaming; Reverend Ray later stumbles upon Billy Candle fleeing the scene of his parent’s death. Billy Candle is Reverend Ray’s Nephew. This scene leads Reverend Ray to believe Billy is the cause of his brother’s death. While all along Bill decides it best just to run and meet up with an old girlfriend. Small mission on the side hint at The Lost Gold of Juarez and Billy’s past and as if they have something to do with each other, End Spoiler.)

Billy Candle Game play:
The Hunted for Most of the GameBilly uses his whip and his climbing ability to get to a lot of the games tedious mission areas. Billy starts the game looking for his house, but gets caught going into town to check things out in town. Not with out a short tutorial before you get to your house, to help get things started with shooting and being sneaky. Billy gets to his house and finds screams, this leads to the Episode ending and “The Player” switches to Rev. Ray watching Billy run away from a “story event” that leads both characters of a fun game (not so fun) of Cat and Mouse. Rev Ray does the chasing and Billy Candle being chased. Later in the story Billy runs into events that allow him to face his fears.

Reverend Ray Game play:
Hunts Billy for First Half of GameAs Rev. Ray you are giving the ability to Dual wields pistols and pick up shotguns, rifles along with a couple random special weapons. As the game starts Reverend Ray walks into a gated area pushing a cart with a sheet over it. As you come to a stop in front of a build with men covering the area in full. Reverend Ray rips the **** of the cart and reveals a Mini-gun you begin in the Old West as a pistol toting preacher who’s a bad ass! Rev. Ray is also given a cheesy slow down “slow mo” for when things get rough in a gun fight you just put down your guns and activate a slow down for about 10 seconds. But this is quite fun. This would be much more fun with better AI and more work on the flimsy aiming in the “slow mo” Reverend Ray chases Billy as he believes the tells him so. Later as Reverend realizes Billy isn’t the one responsibly for his brother’s death, and perhaps he’s been doing a little too much killing for no reason as he chases down his nephew.

Personal view on game:
This game has a lot of potential like many games do. Its one of the first games in a while to pick up the six shooters and draw for some gun fights. I really enjoy the focal point of the game. I run this game on a 720p flat screen LCD. When you look threw the camera at look at certain objects the vision blurs just like real vision when looking at things in distances or really close up, a very vague blur to things in your focal point and things not in your focal point. But the Gun controls could be improved completely especially when it comes to the slow down. It dulls the duals as well as some of the intense gun battle in the game.

Xbox Dashboard Update Monday May 7th

According to Official Xbox Magazines recent article Dashboard Confessional: The Xbox 360 Spring Dashboard Update will hit your Xbox 360 the week on May 7th; you'll be prompted to download it automatically when you log on.

Up to 1,600 additions, tweak, and fixes, here are the most significant changes.

1. The Market Place will get its very own Blade.
2. Messenger on Xbox Live- message between friends while logged into Windows live messenger or MSN Messenger. Also a Text Chat overlay System that will allow up to six friends
3. Achievement Notifications- A pop-up notification announces the Achievement you just unlocked and how many points it adds.
4. Faster Movie Downloads; the data has been streamlined, making downloads faster. Also, your 360 can now go into a low-power mode over night.

This lets the Download continue in a low-power mode, and then The 360 turns off after its finished downloading.

These Updates sound Awesome I can’t wait to get the snap on the mini-keyboard.

But what would you of like to have seen in this Update on Monday?Group Voice ChatBigger Friends ListWeb BrowserMusic Content

G.R.A.W 2 Online Multiplayer

A Short overview of the Online Game play in GRAW 2 and perhaps some of the good and bad things I bring you.

I’d also like your take on the Online in GRAW 2.

One thing to remember sadly to say I did not play a lot of GRAW 1 Online, but I did play its Campaign but here are some slight takes on the game from my perspective.

The first game in a while to offer clan features on the Xbox 360, also integrating a good party system on Xbox live, letting you get you friends in the room easily.

There are a variety of different game types, offering a good mixture of team battles and large skirmish type games, allowing for a good mix of different game types.

There is no cover system like in the story mode, for multiplayer but it doesn’t take away from the game experience to extremely. But there is a slight cover system allowing a crouch and also an ability to lie down.

Rainbow Six Vega has a lot of things that I’d like to see in GRAW 2. Especially the cover system in R6 and the basic shooting system compared to GRAW are completely different, but if you took the concept of both and put them together it would make a very interesting game.

Many of the maps are quite large compared to many of the recent maps on Xbox 360 Games, the recent Gears of War maps don’t even come close to covering some of the depth of the maps in GRAW 2.

GRAW 2’s Ranked mode allows for a very Basic leveling system.

The graphics are a pretty good upgrade from GRAW 1 but its more like GRAW 1.5. None the less it’s really fun and it a good time with your friends.

Halo 3 "X" Button!

It has been announced that Halo 3's "X" button will be a "weapon release"/"weapon" button and have a lot of weapons that are going to be used by the "X" button.

One such weapon will be the shield grenade that will be deployable by the "X" button.

What other weapons did you here for the "X" Button?

Are you excited about this new feature?

What’s the game going to be like with this new "weapon" button?

Guitar Hero II Review

Review on Guitar Hero II for the Xbox 360.
Guitar Hero II is for Xbox 360 and Playstation 2.
Each version of this game offers different aspects but pretty much the same awesome game play.If you liked Guitar Hero I on the Playstation 2, then it’s almost assured, that you will like Guitar Hero II.

Guitar Hero II gives you everything you want and more. “Rock ’n Roll Glory” is the “feeling” brought on by battling threw a long song on hard and finally completing it without failing.

The Version Reviewed is the Xbox 360 version.

The new Guitar Hero II has brought a feeling that the previous Guitar Hero delivered on completely. The feeling of when your “Jamming” on almost every other note in the song, linking it’s “guitar lyrics” together to make the sounds coming from your button pressing “amazing” and “exhilarating”. In the “main menu” the (“Title Screen”) lists your choices of Guitar Hero II “game options”.
1. Career- Most Reviewed Part of Game.
2. Quick Play- Lets you and your pal, play with a 360 controller and another Guitar, allowing for two guitars at the same time playing different notes and even different guitar styles: Bass, and Electronic etc.
3. Multiplayer- “Characteristics” of “Multiplayer”, “No Online Functionality” for Multiplayer on Xbox Live, but there are online leader boards perhaps we can expect a downloadable “Online” Mode in the future of Guitar Hero II’s life span.
4. Training- Leads you into how to play Guitar Hero II if you don’t already know how to play, also gives you an achievement for completing.
5. Leader Boards- gives you the chance to see the top Guitar Heroes and there “In song score” and how “Rockin!” you are compared to them and your friends on Guitar Hero II.
6. Options- this gives you of course all the necessary items that allow you to change game play, visual and audio options.
The normal 4 difficulties in “Career” Mode that are given to the gamer to choose from are among the listed.
1. Easy
2. Medium
3. Hard
4. Expert

These levels each lead a way into the game and will lead you into an achievement hunting refuge for days, mostly late nights.

Each “venue” (“stage”) gives a heighten “sense” of your “popularity and fame”. Also through gaining momentum gains access to these venues; it will lead you to gaining more money. This gives you the ability to buy items in the store and more Guitar Hero “items” such as “Finishes”, “Downloads”, “Songs”, “Characters”, “Outfits”, and “Videos.” These are all the options given to you in the “Store” menu of the “Medium, Hard, and Expert difficulty, there is no ability to purchase these “items” in “Easy Mode” of career mode.

This is it for my review of Guitar Hero II, it’s a little short is missing a couple of things but it brushes over the most important parts of the Guitar Hero II universe.
